It’s like riding a bike, apparently. When I got back into my skinny racing trainer kayak I didn’t feel wobbly at all, despite the two weeks off.
Alex fell in a couple times, but that’s because he was working hard on his leg and hip techniques.
I worked on my technique too, but not the speed part as much.
As our instructor put it, “you look really comfortable there, soaking up the sun, chewing your gum, blowing bubbles… Try putting some effort into it”. So I did (how do you not when caught mid bubble?) and he said I doubled my speed, oops.
After our balance drills he told me I looked too too in that boat so I need to move up to a tornado (which is skinnier/faster/the red boat below).
