Navigating kayaking and other adventures (now with baby!) in the Pacific Northwest with no prior experience
I started this blog as a new kayaker, new occupational therapist, and husband as a new physical therapist. Now we've added in the house with garden and baby (no dog, yet).
When I began all these things they seemed so complex and difficult to achieve. Thankfully we persevered despite limited time and money and my career makes me an expert in analyzing activity (what are the abilities of the person, what are the components of the text, and how does the environment influence everything).
The kayaking world seemed way too big for the beginner - too much gear and specialized techniques - that might keep someone from getting on the water and finding a new passion.
Now with a baby we're running into even more challenges (and rewards!). Babies also come with a lot of guide books that may or may not be helpful, way too much gear, and with the impression from others that now our lives have to stop (hint: we don't agree).
I started this blog because I want the outdoors to be accessible to all! No matter how much time, money, space, knowledge or abilities you have I want you to be able to pursue the outdoors, even if that's beginning with taking the bus to the beach and digging your toes into the sand.
We love living life to the fullest and want you to as well! Please share in our adventures and what we've learned along the way and tell us about your adventures and special set of knowledge!
As the OT slogan goes: "Live Life to the Fullest".
