This is why I started my blog! Because I don’t have a clue yet I am getting out there and having fun! And I want others to do the same. No I don’t want to get myself into a situation I can’t handle and become a missing kayaker on the news, but I also don’t want to be so afraid of not knowing something that I won’t try anything.
And that’s coming from a bookworm who has two degrees in scientific areas and wants to know everything about nature and kayaking!

Paddling Without a Clue 
I sent this article yesterday to a couple of new paddlers as it is exactly what is happening to sea kayaking in my world. Sure you need education but we dont need over regulation. We need common sense and a little bit of adventurous spirit not someone to hold our hand and lead us along the safest path….sorry, did I start to rant ????
Anyway, get out there and have fun. Remember adventure is fun and can be at any level of ability/achievement…….Ian (paddlingsouth… in this beautiful summer weather)
