We had been storing our kayak elsewhere and wanted to bring her home. We have a huge backyard but nowhere to keep her out of the elements.

We looked online for a kayak storage rack, knowing we would be buying other boats in the future and wanting room to expand. Unfortunately those were all really expensive.

So we asked my cousin, whose handy at just about everything, to make us a rack out of PVC pipe.

We stuck it between our garden shed and storage shed (neither of which are long enough for the kayak to fit in).

The rack fit perfectly and our kayak has a new home!

There’s still empty spaces for two more when the time comes!

We still need to throw a roof of some sort on it (some boards perhaps?) or maybe we’ll be lazy and keep our current set up of a tarp.
