Searching for Salmon at Carkeek Park

In the beginning of November a tent was set up to educate everyone on salmon, at Carkeek Park, where you could go try to see the salmon runs from Pipers trail.

I was proud of Kaya for asking the volunteers a question (“what do salmon eat?”) but then she got excited about running through the leaves and forgot to listen to the answer until the second time we asked.

There weren’t any salmon to be seen, because the river was too shallow (they said to come back a couple days after a good rain). We went walking along the trail anyway and found bugs instead!

Another fun, different type of activity, that morning was making a Home Depot craft of an eagle.
